Indo-Pak Collaboration ‘Mungilal Rrocks’

Shashi Ranjan’s Anushka Images has joined hands with Syma Khar from Pakistan to jointly produce MUNGILAL RROCKS. Starring Indian and Pakistani actors, who are yet to be finalized, the film will see a theatrical release in India as well as Pakistan.

“Indian film-makers have embraced and absorbed Pakistani talent, be it actors, singers or music composers. But the Pakistani industry hasn’t lifted the ban on Indian films. During my trips to Pakistan in the recent past, I had a dialogue with the Pakistani authorities. Things are changing gradually, but you can’t expect a transformation overnight,” Shashi Ranjan tells me.

So what’s the solution? “If we join hands with a Pakistani citizen -- which is exactly what I am doing -- you can have a release in Pakistan. Legally, you can’t stop a film from releasing in the country if it’s produced by a Pakistani. And Syma Khar is a Pakistani citizen, based in Pakistan. Besides, they are too well established and well-known in their country,” Shashi divulges.

The makers plan to commence filming MUNGILAL RROCKS from June in India, Dubai and Mauritius and are looking at a summer 2007 release… Shashi Ranjan will officially announce the project to the Indian media on Monday, March 27.

Amitabh, Aamir and Salman together in Tom Dick and Harry
It is for the first time that three superstar characters will be seen together on screen. The characters of Anthony played by Amitabh Bachchan, Mangal Pandey played by Aamir Khan and the crazy lover in Tere Naam played by Salman Khan will come together on screen. Dino Morea, Jimmy Shergill and Anuuj Saawhney will impersonate the popular film characters in Oracle Entertainment Private Limited's 'Tom Dick and Harry'.

The sequence revolves around a Bollywood party where the three musketeers masquerade themselves. It is quite a hilarious scenario as the three of them are physically impaired. Directed by Deepak Tijori Tom Dick and Harry is an out and out comedy that gyrates around the lives of three physically challenged men – deaf, dumb and blind and the experiences they encounter when together.

Once again Shahrukh Khan in thrilling role
Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer of the forthcoming film Don is planning to promote his film in a different way. The makers are toying with the idea of creating different promos for the film and will be changing the promos as the release date comes nearer. And not only that, they are also planning to give attractive posters to their distributors as well.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani who was currently canning the first promo of the film confirmed the news. So we can expect the first promo to hit the theatres this month.

Don stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles and is directed by Farhan Akhtar.

Bipasha in a pop music video

If you are an avid TV viewer, you will soon see teasers of a new music video featuring none other than the sultry Bipasha Basu. When we spoke to Bipasha Basu's secretary earlier, he denied this information. Which is why we were really surprised when we actually saw the video! The video has a hip hop feel to it. Bipasha makes an entry with her face covered by a deck. It is later that her face is revealed. The artist who has sung this song is RG, whose full name is Rajiv Goswami. The song is titled "Mujhe Mere Pyaar Se Matlab" whereas the album is called "RG Mujhe Pyaar Se Matlab." The video looks quite slick and looks like it could give international videos some competition! The promos will go on air from this Sunday.

Incidentally, Bipasha Basu featured in the music video of 'Tu' for Sonu Nigam in the very beginning of her career and recently also appeared in Jay Sean's Stolen.
