I am a postdoctoral data scientist working on a knowledge graph system for the Renaissance Computing Institute in North Carolina. Although I worked with speech processing during grad school, my volunteer administration of websites related to Wikipedia ultimately led me to my current job, and I want to continue working in a similar area on equally visionary ideas after my time as a postdoc. Growing up I always enjoyed learning about computers and languages: these personal interests have also helped me professionally. I often had fun sharing what I learned during long trips with my family, but during more recent trips this has taken a back seat to being curious about my relatives' history. (Sometimes those personal interests turn that curiosity into analyzing the way they speak and wanting to computerize the things they wrote.) In my free time I like playing and conducting trivia games; watching eighties movies, '90s shows, and '00s plays; reading novellas, short stories, and poetry; collecting vinyl records and CDs; appreciating and making geometric art; and taking long walks. I am looking for someone who is good- hearted and optimistic, who enjoys even small trips to different places, and who, when striving toward their goals, loves to bring those around them in.
