Hey, my name is Gurdip Singh. I was born in Punjab but I spent most of my life in California. I grew up going to the local Khalsa School and playing sports. School was never something that I was really into until I got to High School. Then, I had a drive to go to college and from their professional schoo. As a kid, I really enjoyed watching hindi movies with my cousin and during college, I got involved with bhangra dance groups as a hobbie. After high school, I attended San Jose State University for my undergraduate studies. Going into State, all I knew was that I wanted to end up in the medical field. Both of my parents worked hard to get me this far and wanted the best for me. Upon starting, I declared a major in Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. It was not easy but looking back, I had a great time and made real good lifelong friend during those years. As I got closer to finishing my undergraduate studies, I began to question myself as to what I really want to do next in life. Starting college, I wanted to be a doctor but just was not 100% sure if I was dedicated. Upon graduation from San Jose State, I went to India with a nonprofit organization to do medical work. When I got back to State, I was still confused if I wanted to go into medical school. The doctor who I worked with in India suggested Veterinary Medicine as an option for me. I started volunteering at a local small animal Veterinary hospital, the Humane Society, and the Wildlife center in San Jose. I really enjoyed my time with animals and decided to do Veterinary Medicine. Currently, I am a 4th year student at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. I enjoy the outdoors: camping, biking, hiking, even flying kites on a nice day. I enjoy watching sports, listening to music, and dancing at parties. Other describe me as always smiling and willing to offer a hand. I am very family oriented and family is very important to me. Besides family, I have a love for Sikhi. I enjoy going to the Gurdwara and listening to kirtan. Other thing that I enjoy doing are hanging out with friends and family, volunteering my time with events in which I feel like I can make a positive impact. Going through clinical year, I come home tired but I WOULD love to find someone who is full of energy and positivity. I like to look at the positives of all situations that I come across in life. I want to spend the rest of my life with someone who always brings out the best in both of us. I really enjoy traveling and want to spend my money on adventures and making memories.
