I am a Bengali from Kolkata. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Physics in Kolkata, followed by a Master’s degree from Banaras Hindu University and a PhD from TIFR Hyderabad. I then pursued postdoctoral research—first in Israel and later in the United Kingdom. Currently, I am an INSPIRE Faculty Fellow at IISER Pune. Religion: I identify with my religion but do not practise it. I hold liberal views in this regard. Hobbies & interests: I enjoy reading and have a strong interest in sports, both watching and playing (though I play less now). I appreciate intellectual, artistic, and critical discussions and debates. I watch a lot of movies, mainly classics, and I do not particularly enjoy typical Bollywood films. Political ideology: Liberal / Left-leaning. Personality & temperament: I am introverted and need a fair amount of personal time. My way of thinking is logical, scientific, and progressive. Temperament- wise, I would describe myself as melancholic with phlegmatic traits. Social behaviour: I am selective in social interactions, not very active on social media, not fond of large social gatherings, and I rarely take selfies. View on gender equality: I strongly believe in equal rights and mutual respect for all genders. Partner preference: I am looking for someone emotionally mature, compassionate, and independent, with a deep sense of care for family and society—someone ready to build a partnership based on mutual trust, freedom, and support, allowing both of us to be equal partners without imposing excessive conditions on each other.
